Silver can be affected by elements such as exposure to water, heat, chlorine, chemicals found in body products/perfumes etc. and different skin types, especially during the summer months. To combat this make sure you rub with a soft cloth, use a silver dip, and most importantly wear it! This will keep it looking as it should. To keep all your jewellery at its best, clean it often, use fairy liquid and a soft toothbrush, then rinse in lukewarm water and dry, this will help bring life back to stones. But keep pearls away from liquid and chemicals.
Satin or polished finish can be added to your jewellery, but all jewellery will experience a certain amount of wear during daily activities. Textured/satin finishes will begin to polish up and polished finishes will matt down, with time, both will reach an equilibrium, but this can be restored for you if you contact Kimberley and discuss the situation.
All jewellery by Kimberley is made with a great amount of care and attention. If you are participating in an activity which could damage your jewellery, remove it and place it back in the box so it’s ready and looking fabulous when you’ve finished.
All rings are sized using the standard British system, using the letters A – Z. An average finger size for a woman is an M; for a man it’s an S. If you are unsure of your finger size, either measure the circumference of your finger, or the diameter of an existing ring for an idea.
All pendants and necklaces are to a standard 16″ length and bangles are of an average 6.5 to 7cm diameter. If you have any special requirements please email me and I will cater to your needs.
For a bespoke commission Kimberley likes to discuss with you the likes and dislikes of the recipient. She can try and incorporate ideas such as birthstones, engraving to make the jewellery as sentimental and special as possible. Sometimes metal from hand-me-down items can be included (but the metal needs to be assessed before knowing if it is possible.) Kimberley will work to your budget, and will suggest metals and stones that are suitable so you can have the perfect item without a frightening invoice at the end. You will be kept informed at each stage, see sketches and view stones (if relevant). Kimberley will advise you so that you feel that you are making an informed decision.
Commissions start from £300. A deposit of 50% is required as confirmation of an agreement between both parties for a commission to be undertaken. This deposit is non-refundable. The balance must be paid before delivery or on collection.

The 4 C’s of diamond grading Cut, Clarity, Colour and Carat.
Cut – There is an ideal cut for each diamond, how well it is cut depends how much fire and sparkle the diamond will give out. A well cut diamond will reflect the light superbly within its well proportioned facets.
There are many cuts of diamonds and there are more being invented. These are the most common:
Colour – Diamonds are generally assumed to be an icy white colour but they do exhibit hints of colour and are graded by the GIA official scale D–Z (applies only to white diamonds). D being the rarest, most highly sought after, and hence the most expensive. Descending the scale each letter denotes a fractional change, they begin to show hints of yellow, brown, or grey making the diamond appear murky. (Wondering what happened to A,B,C? They left them free in case they ever found a whiter diamond!). However lower down the scale doesn’t mean that they become a coloured diamond, just not a white one.
Clarity – As all diamonds are natural, each and everyone is unique, just like a fingerprint. Formed hundreds of millions of years ago in the Earth’s crust some mineral elements or tiny fractures in the crystal can become trapped inside for eternity – a diamond’s birthmark, technically known as an inclusion. These are graded from the very rare flawless diamonds (fl) with no inclusions to diamonds with inclusions visible to the naked eye looking like black dots, feathers, or clouds. The diamond scale below shows an idea of the amount of inclusions however you.
Carat – Simply the size of the diamond by weight, 1 carat = 200 milligrams. One carat can also be divided into 100 “points”, a 0.75 carat diamond is the same as a 75 points or a ¾ carat diamond. The carat weight actually derived from the carob bean, which had a generic weight whatever the size.

Each item bought straight from the website is handmade, and can take up to 7 to 14 working days to produce. On occasion items can be made faster, it just depends on time of year and demand.

Delivery within the UK
We use the Royal Mail to send jewellery. Each item has a tracking code and will need to be signed for.
Delivery outside of the UK:
Again we use Royal Mail for international post, it aims to deliver to :-
• Most of Western Europe in 3-5 days.
• The rest of Europe, USA & Canada within 5-10 days.
• The rest of the world within 5-14 days.
These are approximate time frames as parcels need to also go through customs, which we have no control over.
Goods that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements are non-returnable, unless faulty.
We offer an exchange policy on stock items if you would prefer a different design. Please contact us within 14 days of receipt to arrange the return of the item or items. They must be sent back in their original, unworn condition. We will then arrange the exchange.
For hygiene reasons, we are not able to accept returns on Earrings unless they are faulty.
When ordering Rings, it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that they have ordered the correct size. A Ring ordered in the incorrect size can be re-sized, but this will be subject to a charge.
If you should receive a faulty or damaged item, please notify us within seven days.
To arrange a return, or if the item you received is faulty, or is not what you originally ordered, please email studio@kimberleyselwood.com quoting your name and address, details of the product, the reason for return and whether you require a refund or replacement. We will then advise on how to proceed with the return.
The item is your responsibility until it reaches us. For your own protection, we recommend that you send the parcel using a delivery service that insures you for the value of the goods. We cannot be held responsible for returns that are lost in transit.
If you are returning an item to us for an exchange, the cost of returning the item to us is your responsibility. Your original postage costs will not be refunded.
All products to be returned, must be carefully repackaged in their original packing and be in an unworn condition. We will not exchange goods that have been worn, do not have their original packaging or show obvious signs of abuse. In this instance, the goods will be returned to the buyer at their own cost.
